Late Neolithic Expansion

چکیده
Although the Scandinavian Late Neolithic today is mainly defined by introduction of bifacial flint work, particularly daggers, agricultural intensification must also be seen as a part package, which developed under Bell Beaker-influence in Jutland around 2350 BCE. It argued that changes subsistence led to population increase, was background for spread new culture Scandinavia. A delay East Denmark is, among other things, reflected scarcity Beaker-related artefacts region. suggested this understood on old cultural differences between West and Denmark.

Complete Mitochondrial Genomes Reveal Neolithic Expansion into Europe
The Neolithic transition from hunting and gathering to farming and cattle breeding marks one of the most drastic cultural changes in European prehistory. Short stretches of ancient mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) from skeletons of pre-Neolithic hunter-gatherers as well as early Neolithic farmers support the demic diffusion model where a migration of early farmers from the Near East and a replacement ...
متن کاملCohabitation effect on the slowdown of the Neolithic expansion
We introduce the effect of cohabitation between generations to a previous model on the slowdown of the Neolithic transition in Europe. This effect consists on the fact that human beings do not leave their children alone when they migrate, but on the contrary they cohabit until their children reach adulthood. We also use archaeological data to estimate the variation of the Mesolithic population ...
متن کاملThe effect of the Neolithic expansion on European molecular diversity.
We performed extensive and realistic simulations of the colonization process of Europe by Neolithic farmers, as well as their potential admixture and competition with local Palaeolithic hunter-gatherers. We find that minute amounts of gene flow between Palaeolithic and Neolithic populations should lead to a massive Palaeolithic contribution to the current gene pool of Europeans. This large Pala...
متن کاملReconstructing Demography and Social Behavior During the Neolithic Expansion from Genomic Diversity Across Island Southeast Asia
Archaeology, linguistics, and increasingly genetics are clarifying how populations moved from mainland Asia, through Island Southeast Asia, and out into the Pacific during the farming revolution. Yet key features of this process remain poorly understood, particularly how social behaviors intersected with demographic drivers to create the patterns of genomic diversity observed across Island Sout...
متن کاملMajor Population Expansion of East Asians Began before Neolithic Time: Evidence of mtDNA Genomes
It is a major question in archaeology and anthropology whether human populations started to grow primarily after the advent of agriculture, i.e., the Neolithic time, especially in East Asia, which was one of the centers of ancient agricultural civilization. To answer this question requires an accurate estimation of the time of lineage expansion as well as that of population expansion in a popul...
